Kayak-shack.com is the online arm of The Kayak Shack located in Plattsburgh, NY. We were born of a need for a true paddlesorts resource for one of America's most underutilized paddling destination, Lake Champlain as well as the Adirondack Park.

We are located directly West .7 miles from the Famous Valcour lighthouse and Valcour Island on beautiful Lake Champlain in WAY upstate New York only 30 minutes from the Canadian Border. We offer at our retail location everything a paddler needs, and lots of things a paddler wants, Of course our location lends itself to us specializing in longer touring boats, we also carry, recreational, sit on tops and fishing specific boats as well as gear suited to all types of water sports.

It is our love of kayaking that allows us to operate the most complete kayak specific store in the area from May to October every year with special hours during the holidays. In our off season, our gear and knowledge is available here at kayak-shack.com. and hopefully paddlers from around the world will find something useful as they peruse this site.

We are proud active members of the British Canoe Union, Lake Champlain Basin Program and their Paddlers' Trail, Northern Forest Canoe Trail, North Country Chamber of Commerce, and Lake Champlain Kayak Club and offer discounts to members of these groups, as well as sponsors of the Lake Champlain Sea Kayak Institute held by SUNY Plattsburgh.
